***Review*** Four Doors Down by Emma Doherty

Four Doors DownFour Doors Down by Emma Doherty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having been in a bit of a book slump lately i really didnt know what to expect when i started this book. The thing about debut books is they can sometimes have the potential to be great but just fall short of that, however this is definately not one of those books. The story was brilliant and i for one will be looking out for more from this author.

Becca and Ryan were best friends right up until they were 12, when Ryan decided that being "popular" meant more to him then their friendship. After that day Becca went out of her way to ignore her former best friend and Ryan went out of his way to torment her any chance he got. When their last year at high school begins things change, Ryan no longer just torments her, he is everywhere she goes, and Becca hates it. Just when she gets a boyfriend, great friends and is actually happy with her life Ryan steps up his game and Becca doesnt know what to think or how to feel, and Ryan? Well he has his own agenda and he is just as derermined to make Becca take notice of him.

Although this is a high school romance and therefore has the typical characters, the "cliquey popular crowd", "the king of the school" and the "head cheerleader" Becca was a breath of fresh air having no interest in being part of the clique really made her likeable and enjoyable to read, was there times when she was immature? Yeah but thats just the par for characters her age. Ryan was really well written and although he was the "king of the school" i instantly liked him and knew there would be more to him than just your average jock. The angst, playful banter and needing to know if the characters would actually get together kept me hooked from page one. If you're looking for a YA book with great characters and an even better storyline this is the book for you. Great debut book and i cant wait to read the next!

This book is definitely one of my top reads of this year; and if the second and third books are as good as this one, we readers are in for one hell of a treat.

This book was funny, sweet and oh so sinful, but in the most innocent of ways. I have read a lot of steamy romance books with plenty of hot bedroom scenes, but a simple kiss scene in this book had the butterflies fluttering around my tummy. Noah is definitely my kind of man

***Review*** Olivia's Ride by C.A. Harms

Olivia's Ride (Sawyer Brothers Book 4)Olivia's Ride by C.A. Harms

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The fourth book in the Sawyer Brothers series, we first met Olivia Sawyer as a teenager in the first book, Ryan's Love, when she was still struggling to deal with the loss of her mother. While it's not necessary to have read the previous books in the series, it does add to the experience as they all build on each other.

Now twenty, Olivia (Liv) is going to college and has grown into an intelligent, confident, capable young woman; she just needs to convince her overprotective father and uncles of that. Keeton Pearce is essentially alone, going to college on an academic scholarship and supporting himself by working as a mechanic, having moved into his own apartment to get away from an abusive and alcoholic father and brother. He's intent on making a better life for himself and doesn't want to see his past tarnish the relationship he wants to build with Liv.

I really liked the characters of Keeton and Liv; they're both intelligent, likable and funny; the author did a nice job with the supporting characters as well, including the whole Sawyer clan. I did find the plot a little predictable in spots but the pacing was good. The only real quibble I have is with the writing style, which didn't always work for me; dialogue wasn't always realistic, at times lacking contractions, and the language was sometimes a little too formal to suit the character (food was consumed instead of eaten). Still, this is a light, sweet read with a little heat and plenty of laughter. 3.5 to 4 stars

***Review*** The Sapphire Affair by Lauren Blakely

The Sapphire Affair (Jewel, #1)The Sapphire Affair by Lauren Blakely
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Sapphire Affair

Wow where to start? Firstly, let me just say i have never read a book by this author before, but after ive written this im going to be getting one click happy!

A Sapphire Affair has it all, intrigue, adventure, danger, a sassy heroine and an even hotter alpha male.

Jake Harlowes job is simple, clients hire him to track down things, anything from expensive violins to millions of pounds worth of stolen money. Jakes latest job lead's him on a collision course with one Steph Anderson. Not only does she set Jakes pulse racing and make him want to pursue her, to Jake she is unlike any other woman he has met before. That is until Jake learns who she truly is. Is Jake being played? And will this woman make him sink or swim when all is said and done?

Steph Anderson loves her stepdad, adores him even. However when she learns he left her mom high and dry in their divorce, all while he is living the high life she sets about to find out just what he is up to, and if she can return what rightfully belongs to her mam. Having been burned before Steph is sworn off men until she meets Jake, the attraction is intense and one she simply cannot ignore. But when truths unfold and Steph learns who Jake is they agree to form a partnership. The only rules? No lying and absolutely nothing more then a business partnership.....but the thing about rules? Theyre meant to be broken.

This story had me hooked from page one and i finished it in one sitting. Both Steph and Jake bring something fresh to the story. Their chemistry and banter add a touch of humor and lust you just sink right in to. Throughout the book i was either laughing at their witt, on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next, or i was feeling hot under the collar from the steamy scenes. My only gripe? The cliffhanger!!! Im just thankful i dont have to wait too long for book two im dying to read more!

***Review*** Conquering by Ryan Michele

Conquering (Vipers Creed MC, #2)Conquering by Ryan Michele
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Conquering is the second book in the Vipers Creed MC Series by author Ryan Michele. Although part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone novel without getting lost.

Stiff and Chelsea were just the right blend of strength and stubbornness, they fought for what they wanted, and we're passionate about it. They were loyal and fiercely protective of those they loved. For me, one thing that set them above many other couples in the same sort of situations was the fact that they actually communicated.

I loved the fast paced storyline, with just the right mix of humour, intrigue and downright dirty talking bikers, this book had me hooked from start to finish.

I will certainly be marking this as a one click series.

***Review*** Love Tap by M.N. Forgy

Love TapLove Tap by M.N. Forgy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

**************** Gifted Copy by author/publisher ******************

A knock-out doesn’t even describe the beauty and rawness of Love Tap. I can safely say if I wasn’t a girl, I would have fallen for Tatum “HellCat” Davis. This awesome character has definitely made the list of my all time favorite book heroines. However, both Camden and Tate in Love Tap steal pieces of your heart when you read their story. A story I absolutely LOVED!!!

Told from both Tate and Camden’s POV combined with flashbacks, you find yourself quickly immersed in this one of a kind, hard earned love story. Talk about a damn nail biter! So much so, my poor girls had ruined mac n cheese because I poured too much water in while I stood reading my kindle. Yes, I wouldn’t put it down and I’m sure you won’t either. The story does not quit! With a beginning filled with angst and pain, I will say I was shocked. I had to check that I was reading the right author...Lol! This wasn’t an MC book! No, this book was more.

The author brought forth so much emotion and I’d hazard to bet this story was this author’s finest writing to date. The topics of the aftermath of cancer and death, abusive boyfriends, debt, underground fighting, found myself completely vested in Tate and Camden’s story. These characters, especially Tate, were phenomenal. Tate is a true diamond in the rough and a no nonsense girl that sticks to who she is and makes no apologies. Where the author does magic, is the complimentary hero, Camden. As a young boy Camden loved Tate as is, no frills necessary. As a man, the fact that time had not changed the girl who stole his heart at his birthday party, Camden’s love for Tate is so much deeper, even though it takes him a while to realize this.

The story is a standalone and has a long but deliciously earned HEA. To get there, you will find yourself immersed in the world of MMA training and fighting and not be lost. Also, you will find yourself rooting on Tate “Hellcat” Davis as she accomplishes what she sets out to do from the very beginning when she goes home, make a successful career and win the heart of the man she loves back.

Outstanding 5 stars for me.
